There are two airports in Miami, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International and Miami International. Miami International Airport is a much busier airport than Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International. Miami International Airport is 12 miles from Miami downtown and there are various transport options available in the airport to go to downtown. This airport started its operations in the year 1928. In addition, a seaplane base is also located in Miami, which is very important in the history of American Aviation industry. After being used as a training base for US navy during World War, it was used for a brief period as a non-scheduled commercial flier, but is now used as a marina.
